Headhunting Process

  1. The starting point of every headhunting exercise is research. We benefit from having our own in-house research team, so our research capabilities are exceptional.
  2. When we embark on a headhunting project we spend the first week identifying every single person working within typically an hour’s radius of your business who could conceivably do the job you’re looking for someone to do.
  3. We then analyse the results of the research and hand-pick typically 40-50 candidates that we consider to be the best potential ‘targets’ based on such factors as employment status, job title, employer-type etc.
  4. Our research capabilities mean that no candidate is out of our (or your) reach. Most of the candidates we approach aren’t actively looking for new jobs (i.e. they’re not applying to adverts or registering with agencies) but a very high proportion of the people we speak to (typically 50-60%) are open-minded about discussing good opportunities. This is one of the powerful benefits of headhunting – we can attract and recruit many high calibre candidates who simply couldn’t be recruited through adverts or agencies.
  5. Before we headhunt anyone, the results of our research/analysis are presented to you, so you have complete control over whom we headhunt in relation to your opportunity. This means, for example, that we would never headhunt someone from a firm with which you had a close working relationship.
  6. The headhunting process itself is undertaken with a high level of professionalism. Candidates are approached with great discretion and your opportunity is only discussed with people who are genuinely open-minded about considering something new.
  7. As we generate interest in your role, we organise for interested candidates to come and meet with you. We organise all of the meetings for you and make sure that everyone’s properly briefed and de-briefed.
  8. We provide detailed written advice at every stage of the process, which can be especially helpful to clients who are new to headhunting, as the dynamic of recruiting through a headhunting process is quite different to recruiting through adverts or agencies.
  9. A headhunting project doesn’t end until we’ve found what you’re looking for and the successful candidate has accepted your position, given notice to their current employer and confirmed a start date.
  10. Even after a project is completed, our Client Services Manager will stay in touch until at least 3 months after the candidate we’ve placed with you starts their new job, to ensure that everything’s going according to plan.
